Tailgating With Geniuses — Brilliant Guests Tolerable Hosts
This is the coolest thing I’ve been part of in years and you’re gonna want to get in on it. It’s a new podcast (I heard you groan…stay with me) that features some of the best known and respected A-listers from the worlds of business, media, sports and entertainment sharing their stories and behind-the-scenes successes (and failures) in a relaxed, disarming environment. It’s called Tailgating With Geniuses (is that an awesome name for a podcast or what?) and its premise is simple: Casual lawn chair conversations with brilliant people – minus corporate BS and heavy on Pringles and weiners – prompt superb storytelling and the best opportunities for us to learn how to make our businesses and ourselves more successful. While having some laughs.
As one of TWG’s three tolerable hosts, trust me when I say you can count on incomparable lessons and completely inappropriate comments in equal measure. And you’ll be amazed at the caliber of guests who’ll be tailigating with us. When I say they’re A-listers, I‘m not exaggerating. Brilliant guests joining TWG this season will include current and former brass of companies like Nike, Uber, Coca-Cola and Gatorade. Along with some Academy Award winners, sports legends-turned-entrepreneurs, brand/marketing gods and goddesses, best-selling authors and heroic military leaders. And that’s just for starters. See what I mean? Who doesn’t have something to learn from such amazing people? Where else but TWG can you find access to them?
My fellow tolerable hosts, Martin Flaherty and Lekan Bashua, are two super-successful guys you’re going to enjoy meeting. And man, they have some great stories to tell, too. They and I knew we had the right idea creating a show that would allow us to tap into our deep wells of experience working with many of the world’s biggest brands, as well as incredible start-ups. But we knew we could build something truly incredible if we tapped into our networks of ridiculously accomplished friends. So we did. And I’m stoked that they’re supporting TWG so enthusiastically. Turns out they’re as tired of all those predictable business podcasts and mindless “I’m successful and you can be, too” programs as we are. I bet you are, too.
We promise to tackle the issues you’re confronted with every day in your work-life and the stuff that’s blocking you from succeeding. Then we’ll unfold the lawn chairs and learn how supremely accomplished people have overcome them. And hear stories you’ll never forget.
Our first episode will be recorded on June 3 at 3 p.m, eastern. We’ll host and record our discussions on Clubhouse so attendees can join in the conversation and ask questions. Then, we’ll edit our recordings and you’ll be able to find TWG wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts.
For more information on how and where to join us in Clubhouse, or to see our upcoming schedule of shows and guests, follow Tailgating With Geniuses on LinkedIn (right now! hurry!). I can’t wait to hear what you think of it.
